To strip a tree of its bark and use it as a mold to cast a concrete trunk. This synthetic recreation is a reflection of how landscapes, resources, and culture are recreated by society. It mirrors a binary between unmade things found in nature and industrial materials. The stripped trunk is positioned leaning against the concrete trunk, a balance that will eventually result in the concrete falling to the ground upon the rotting of the log. A metaphor for the tedious balance that must be relieved for humanity to continue existing on this planet with other ecosystems.
